Esta t\u00e9cnica consiste en oxidar la muestra en un horno de alta temperatura \u2014ya sea de resistencia o por inducci\u00f3n, seg\u00fan el tipo de material y la preferencia anal\u00edtica\u2014 en presencia de ox\u00edgeno puro. El carbono y el azufre de la muestra se convierten en di\u00f3xido de carbono (CO\u2082) y di\u00f3xido de azufre (SO\u2082), respectivamente, los cuales se miden luego mediante detecci\u00f3n infrarroja. Este m\u00e9todo ofrece alta sensibilidad, precisi\u00f3n y rapidez, lo que lo hace ideal tanto para entornos de investigaci\u00f3n como de control de calidad. La elecci\u00f3n entre hornos de resistencia y de inducci\u00f3n permite flexibilidad para manejar una amplia gama de matrices de muestras, desde polvos hasta electrodos s\u00f3lidos.
