Cette r\u00e9silience pose un d\u00e9fi pour la recherche analytique, complexifi\u00e9e par une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de formulations, incluant une large gamme d'additifs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">R\u00e9cemment, les chimistes de LECO se sont lanc\u00e9s le d\u00e9fi de caract\u00e9riser la composition chimique d&#x27;un polym\u00e8re haute performance connu sous le nom de polyph\u00e9nyl\u00e8ne sulfure, ou PPS. Le PPS est un thermoplastique \u00e0 structure semi-cristalline, con\u00e7u pour offrir une r\u00e9sistance \u00e9lev\u00e9e \u00e0 la chaleur et aux produits chimiques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour cette analyse, deux techniques analytiques compl\u00e9mentaires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9es pour d\u00e9crypter cet \u00e9chantillon complexe et difficile : la d\u00e9sorption thermique et la pyrolyse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h2-style\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--2-xl)\">D\u00e9sorption thermique et pyrolyse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La d\u00e9sorption thermique implique le chauffage contr\u00f4l\u00e9 d'un \u00e9chantillon jusqu'\u00e0 300 degr\u00e9s Celsius, ce qui permet la volatilisation graduelle des analytes cl\u00e9s qu'il contient, id\u00e9alement sans endommager leur structure chimique. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La pyrolyse utilise une chaleur beaucoup plus intense, allant de 600 degr\u00e9s Celsius et au-del\u00e0. Plut\u00f4t que de se concentrer sur la pr\u00e9servation des substances volatiles, la pyrolyse permet l'analyse de polym\u00e8res moins volatils en divisant ces longues cha\u00eenes en segments plus faciles \u00e0 analyser. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--l)\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h3-style\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--2-xl)\">Techniques analytiques compl\u00e9mentaires<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En combinant ces deux m\u00e9thodes, la composition chimique compl\u00e8te peut \u00eatre r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e : les additifs et contaminants par d\u00e9sorption thermique, et la structure du polym\u00e8re de base par pyrolyse. N'utiliser qu'une seule de ces m\u00e9thodes aboutirait \u00e0 une image incompl\u00e8te du polym\u00e8re, rendant l'analyse beaucoup moins utile et laissant des lacunes dans les r\u00e9sultats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cette approche analytique en deux volets permet une analyse plus compl\u00e8te des polym\u00e8res complexes et difficiles, sans le temps de pr\u00e9paration d'\u00e9chantillons important des m\u00e9thodes alternatives telles que la dissolution ou la d\u00e9rivation. Avec la d\u00e9sorption thermique et la pyrolyse, vous obtenez le r\u00e9sultat dont vous avez besoin, moins la longue attente.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h3-style\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--2-xl)\">Pourquoi la CPG \u00e0 1 dimension ne suffit pas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Si la d\u00e9sorption thermique et la pyrolyse ont permis d&#x27;analyser le PPS par chromatographie en phase gazeuse, l&#x27;analyse de ce polym\u00e8re haute performance n\u00e9cessite le recours \u00e0 des instruments d&#x27;analyse tout aussi performants afin d&#x27;obtenir des r\u00e9sultats complets et fiables. Les chimistes de LECO ont analys\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9chantillon \u00e0 la fois par GC-TOFMS (chromatographie en phase gazeuse coupl\u00e9e \u00e0 la spectrom\u00e9trie de masse \u00e0 temps de vol) et par GCxGC-HRTOFMS (chromatographie en phase gazeuse bidimensionnelle coupl\u00e9e \u00e0 la spectrom\u00e9trie de masse \u00e0 temps de vol haute r\u00e9solution), et les diff\u00e9rences observ\u00e9es \u00e9taient notables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La chromatographie multidimensionnelle a permis d&#x27;obtenir une excellente s\u00e9paration des compos\u00e9s co-\u00e9luants issus de la s\u00e9paration unidimensionnelle.
