LECO will be at IMAT in Cleveland, Ohio, and MS&T in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At both shows, we’ll be bringing our new metallographic saw, the CX300, our AMH55 system, the CS744 combustion analyzer, and our GDS lamps.
A non-invasive method was used to establish a core breath profile for healthy, non-human primates. Breath profiles have been observed as a way to identify diseased primates from healthy ones. The hope is that the results of such research will aid in other studies, especially human research.
Sectioning machines (enclosed abrasive saws) come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and methods for cutting. Selecting what type of saw you need isn’t always as straightforward as you think. The most helpful tool is knowing what samples you want to cut.
Moisture content is a key parameter for all food and feed laboratories. It is needed for dry base calculations as well as for the general water content determination. In milk and other liquids, the amount of the total solids TS is an important parameter. The TGM800 is a thermogravimetric analyzer designed to determine moisture content […]
Discover our wide-ranging versatility in conducting various types of analyses within the building materials sector.
Committed to empowering results, LECO participates in ASTM committees to help develop industry standards and guides. We’re currently working on a new GD-AES method for steel analysis, and we’re looking for collaborators.
Learn more about construction materials, especially cement, in this upcoming webinar series from LECO.
For anyone who has worked with polishing/grinding equipment, like LECO’s PX Series, you know that using the right combination of abrasives and polishing cloths is key. However, changing out the materials can sometimes be a tedious task. As part of LECO’s mission to empower success in laboratories worldwide, we created a system that makes switching […]
The fall meeting of the American Chemical Society is sure to be a great one with all that LECO is bringing to the table… or should I say, booth? The conference takes place in just over a week on August 18-22nd in Denver, Colorado. For those of you who plan to attend, you’re in for […]
When hearing the word “talc,” many people tend to associate the mineral with baby powder. But talc has a plethora of uses and applications that many overlook. Talc is best described as a clay mineral that is composed of magnesium, silicon, oxygen, and hydrogen—often referred to as hydrous magnesium silicate. It’s recognized for its soft […]
In 2021, LECO announced the exciting news they were in search of a collaborator to elevate or expand upon the GC-MS analytical technique with our advanced tools. The next year, it was announced that Dr. Petr Vozka of Cal State University, LA would be the collaborator and recipient of a Pegasus® BT GC-MS system. Since […]
In the last several years, electric vehicles have become increasingly popular, and many manufacturers are beginning to provide EV options for their consumers. Because of this rise, the demand for graphite has significantly increased. Graphite not only makes up the largest portion of EV batteries, but the most important part of the battery, the anode. […]
With the recent explosion of the electric vehicle industry, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries are in seriously high demand. Although they are not the only batteries that can power an EV, they are some of the safest, longest lasting, and most durable out there, making them a popular choice amongst manufacturers. These LFP batteries are […]
This year marks the 20th annual conference of the Metabolomics Society! LECO is excited to be a sponsor for Metabolomics 2024, starting on 16 June and ending 20 June, and we’re counting down the minutes until the conference begins. Held in the buzzing metropolis of Osaka, Japan, this event is the largest metabolomics meeting worldwide. […]
In an era marked by intricate chemical compositions and emerging contaminants, conventional targeted analysis methods often prove inadequate for gaining a comprehensive understanding of environmental and biological matrices. Enter non-targeted screening – an innovative approach enabling the simultaneous detection and identification of thousands of compounds, regardless of prior knowledge of their presence. Positioned at the […]
After carefully reviewing hundreds of entries from hopeful labs around the United States, LECO Corporation has selected Dr. Kate Perrault Uptmor as the recipient of a brand-new LECO Pegasus BTX 4D with Paradigm™ Flow Modulator.
The 72nd Annual American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) Conference is taking place from 2 June – 6 June. We’ll be in attendance, and we’ll have our all-new BenchTop Mass Spectrometer, the Pegasus BTX, with us! Check out this new advancement in mass spectrometry and ask our experts anything you’re wanting to know at Booth […]
The short answer to that question is yes… eventually. But there are several factors that play into it. You may notice that some of your consumables have labels with specific expiration dates, while others do not. For items that don’t include a specific expiration date, shelf-life is based on the date of manufacture. The manufacturing […]
